Former President William Jefferson Clinton will present the opening address of the symposium. Following his address he will be interviewed by DeWayne Wickham, Director of the Institute for Advanced Journalism Studies at North Carolina A&T State University and Tukufu Zuberi, Lasry Family Professor of Race Relations at the University of Pennsylvania.

Race Relations Then and Now
As part of the Project a team of journalists was assembled to study the legacy of the riots and the current socioeconomic and racial equality in eight of the cities hardest hit by the social unrest of the 1960s. Several members of the team will discuss their findings.
